Overview
This is our signature treatment — the one we named the spa after — and it’s built for real muscle recovery, not just relaxation. Kantu Massage uses deep tissue kneading and sustained pressure-point technique, concentrated on the neck, shoulders, and back, to release the kind of deep knots that build up after days of trekking or simply carrying a daypack through Cusco’s steep streets. It’s the firmest treatment on our menu, and it closes with a foot wash using natural Maras salt to bring down inflammation in tired feet.
What's Included in Your Session
- Coca leaf cream. Applied during the deep tissue work for its traditional circulatory and soothing properties.
- Muña and rosemary oils. Andean botanicals used throughout the massage to ease muscle tension.
- Foot wash with Maras salt and coca leaves. A closing ritual specifically aimed at reducing swelling and inflammation after long days of walking.
Pricing
- 1:30 Hour - 60.00 USD
- 1:00 Hour - 45.00 USD
- 30 Min - 23.00 USD
Benefits for Travelers in Cusco
- Targets deep, sustained muscle knots — the kind that a lighter massage won’t fully release, especially after multi-day trekking.
- Concentrated work on the neck, shoulders, and back addresses the areas most affected by carrying backpacks and sleeping in unfamiliar beds during a trek.
- The Maras salt foot wash specifically targets swelling, one of the most common complaints after the Inca Trail, Salkantay, or Rainbow Mountain.
- A strong option if you’ve already tried a lighter massage on this trip and still feel tension — this one applies more sustained pressure.
Is This Massage Right for You?
Choose Kantu Massage if you want the deepest, most intense muscle work we offer — it’s not a gentle relaxation session, it’s built around real recovery. If firm pressure isn’t what you’re looking for, our Gentle Relaxing Massage or Swedish Massage are better matches. If you want similar intensity with a more ritualistic, traditional Andean experience, the Inca Massage offers a comparable level of depth with added aromatherapy and hot stones.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Kantu Massage painful?
It uses firm, deep pressure, which can feel intense on very tight muscles, but your therapist adjusts pressure based on your feedback throughout the session.
Is this the best massage after multi-day trekking?
For deep, sustained muscle tension after several days of hiking, yes — it’s specifically designed for that kind of recovery, more so than our lighter relaxation-focused treatments.
What's the difference between Kantu Massage and Inca Massage?
Kantu Massage focuses more narrowly on deep tissue work in the neck, shoulders, and back; Inca Massage is a broader full-body ritual that adds aromatherapy and hot stones to a similar level of intensity.
Will I be sore after a deep tissue massage?
Some mild soreness the next day is common after deep tissue work, similar to how muscles respond after intense exercise — it typically resolves within a day.
How long should I book for real recovery after trekking?
60 to 90 minutes is recommended to allow enough time on the areas that carry the most tension — neck, shoulders, back, and feet.
